Hearts Forever Entwined -- A daughter’s love, stitched into a legacy.

Welcome to Hearts Forever Entwined.

My name is Kristin, and this boutique is a tribute to my unforgettable mom, Kathy, and the unbreakable bond we share -- one that not even distance nor time could unravel.

In October 2022, I was diagnosed with an early-stage non-invasive breast cancer. While I began treatment in Oregon, my mom was back east in Iowa; separated by miles but always close in my heart. My mom was my confidante, my cheerleader, and my greatest source of comfort during this journey.

Then came a heartbreaking twist: in December 2023, my mom passed away unexpectedly. While I knew she was sick, I did not know how sick she was. In addition, that morning, we learned she had breast cancer too. Unlike mine, her cancer was invasive and had metastasized to her bones. Which is typical of this type of cancer. She never got the chance to begin her fight.

To cope with the grief, I turned to something new -- and yet, something that felt so perfectly healing; quilting. I had never quilted before, but as I learned, with every cut, every stitch, and every choice of fabric, I felt my mom’s spirit beside me. It was like she was guiding my hands and wrapping me in love all over again.

From that journey, Hearts Forever Entwined was born.

My mom and I are  passionate about quilting. My fondest quilting memories are of shopping with her to find the fabrics for the quilt she made me. She was a proud mama and loved introducing me to her quilting friends and shop owners in central Iowa.

As you can see our passions don’t stop there. We are both avid readers, and of course, proud dog moms.  

Finally, We also shared an ever-burning desire to raise awareness for breast cancer -- and this boutique is one more way to continue that mission.
